One of Ninety-nine, The Good Shepherd

$13.00$100.00

A Print of One of Ninety-Nine, The Good Shepherd. This print comes as a high quality Giclee print or a Matte Photographic Print.

This work was produced for Sovereign Grace Fellowship in Brazoria, TX.

Artists notes:

The hands of the shepherd are bloody but the sheep is not.
The shepherd is wrapped in a coat of many colors.
The colors are purple, red, and blue hues.
The same colors used in the tabernacle curtain.
The sheep has a crown of white hair that is seemingly untouched by the darkness.
The shepherd carries the sheep in a tender embrace, not the stereotypical over the shoulder ease, but in his arms, like a child.
The shepherd’s gaze is on what lies ahead, while the sheep looks about, particularly at the viewer.
The shepherd is carrying the sheep through to a golden day that is overtaking the dark.
The dark is not yet overtaken, but is obviously diminishing.
There is an underpainting that provides a great deal of texture, some of that is lost in the print, but I tried to get a digital copy that would preserve most of it.
That painting beneath is covered in the beautiful gold, but is also revealed, whereas it is obscured by the darkness. (The implication being that the presence of Jesus, our good shepherd, in our lives brings beauty and unique definition to our walks. This is in contrast to sin/darkness that obscures our lives and makes it impossible to see the texture and beauty of life!)
