This piece was originally produced out of a season of exploration. J Novis Elkins wanted to explore the strength of the lighthouse amidst the storm as a metaphor of the Christian life. Notice how the water covers the dock while simultaneously draining off through the fence railing. Also take note of how the light house remains vibrant while the front building is slightly blurred and obscured. So the Christian’s life is a mix of that which is clear and seen by all and that which is silently providing stability and hospitality to passers-by.
